Attorney Mark Upright is originally from Philadelphia. Mark has undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Accounting.  A Master in Business Administration from DeSales University.  He attended Law School at Rutgers School of Law while he was the Vice President of Administration for The Association of Independent Growth, an organization providing services for Adults and Youth with developmental disabilities.

Mark arrived in Asheville in 2002 after being appointed President and CEO of Eliada Homes and Foundation. Eliada offered Residential Psychiatric Treatment Facilities, Alternative Schools, Foster Care, Adoption, and Child Development services for the state of North Carolina. During his 14 years at the organization's helm, he launched the ESTA Program. This unique initiative provides trade programs that meet the educational and career needs of youth transitioning out of the Foster Care and Mental Health systems.

Admitted to the North Carolina Bar in 2006, Mark provided Parent Coordination Services in Western North Carolina. After retiring from Eliada, Mark focused on his private Family Law Practice in Asheville. His practice provided services to Buncombe, Henderson, Transylvania, Polk, Madison, Rutherford, Yancey, and Haywood counties. He offers a wide array of services, including Divorce, Child Custody, Child Support, Alimony, Post-Separation Support, Equitable Distribution, Separation Agreements, Prenuptial and Adoption Services.

Mark is passionate about providing Family Law Services that address the needs of children and their parents. As a strong advocate for the client, he will make difficult emotional and financial challenges easy to understand and navigate throughout the process.

Mark has been married to DonnaMarie for 35 years. They have three sons, Justin, Holden, and Jordan. You can find him at the gym in his spare time, as he believes a healthy lifestyle is essential to his professional endeavors.
